February brings with it a few premieres. Find out what’s new on the blog with a click through…
In addition to our regular content, there are three major events of note in February that we’ll be covering:
Smash S2
Whether you were ‘hate watching’ Smash‘s first season or you thought it was one of the most innovative TV shows to debut last year, the show returns (revamped & rebranded) on Tuesday, February 5 at 9pm EST on NBC with a 2 hour premiere.
Gone are Ellis, Dev, Leo and Will, as well as showrunner/creator Theresa Rebeck. In their place is former Gossip Girl showrunner Jonathan Safran, as well as guest stars Jeremy Jordan and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson. Whether the show can overcome the stigma it accrued last year (it was TVAngie’s 3rd worst show and cinephilactic’s worst show of 2012) remains to be seen, but reviewer yellowwait is ready to pass judgement on this lightning rod of a series.
The Walking Dead S3 Pt 2
The most popular show on TV (for folks between 18-49) resumes its emotionally harrowing third season when its second half debuts on Sunday, February 10 at 9pm EST on AMC.
After a gripping first run of episodes featuring many, many deaths and shocking twists, fans are eagerly awaiting the showdown between the Governor (David Morrissey) and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). How this involves everyone’s favourite punching bag, Andrea (Laurie Holden), and the brothers Dixon – Merle (Michael Rooker) and Darryl (Norman Reedus) – remains to be seen. TVAngie, for one, can’t wait to find out as her #1 show of 2012 returns.
Bitch Awards – Oscar Fashion 2013
At this point in the race, Best Film is completely up for grabs (will Argo continue to dominate? Can Zero Dark Thirty overcome its depiction of torture to grab some statues? Will indie darling Beasts Of The Southern Wild come from behind to stun everyone with a win?) Regardless of who wins – or loses – the 2013 Oscars will undoubtedly have their fair share of predictability (Anne Hathaway for Best Supporting Actress) and controversy (Seth MacFarlane could be the worst or best choice of host in quite some time).
But let’s be honest, the only thing we really care about is the fashion, amirite? If not, then bugger off. If yes, then you’re in luck! Yellowwait will be tackling the red carpet fashion for a second year in a row (last year’s critique is here), so be sure to check-in after the ceremony to see who wears a swan dress and who looks like a princess!
