This week things get serious on Happy Endings. No, the show isn’t cancelled…yet, but it’s the end for one lovable couple. Also, Dave (Zachary Knighton) discovers he’s a psychic, Brad (Damon Wayans Jr.) and Jane (Eliza Coupe) aren’t as perfect as we all thought, and Max (Adam Pally) and Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) become taste makers. Oh, and did I mention it’s the return of Derrick (Stephen Guarino) and he’s putting on a musical? DRAMA…literally. Let’s bitch.

The great comedy drought of 2013 is over. Happy Endings returns this week after what seems like a longer break than the inbetween seasons of The Sopranos. It’s a good thing ABC decided to give us a double dose to appease our hunger for comedy gold. Now did the show come back in style?

After Sunday’s hilarious episode we get a second helping of Happy Endings this week, and although this episode doesn’t soar as high as the previous one, it’s still got some great stuff. Like the eagerly anticipated (by me at least) return of Derek (Stephen Guarino)! Looks like January just might be a great month.

I will admit I was a little misty eyed watching the season finale of Happy Endings. Maybe it was because I knew I won’t see another new episode until the fall, or perhaps it was because I always cry at weddings. It could also have been the sweet “maybe” reunion of Dave (Zachary Knighton) and Alex (Elisha Cuthbert), but most likely it was the beautiful rendition of ‘Like a Prayer’ from one of my favorite boy bands, Mandonna. God Bless Pitchy Pete! (Eat your heart out The Wanted!)
