It’s back into the ring as Patty (Glenn Close) and Ellen (Rose Byrne) duke it out in round three of the final season of Damages. After having bested Ellen last week with the judge switch-up, does Patty lose this round to even things out?

The Damages battle between Patty Hewes (Glenn Close) and Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne) is in full force in the second episode of the final season. Hewes takes round one as Ellen ends up shooting herself in the foot by playing right into Patty’s hands.

Damages returned last night for its fifth and final season. Looks like we’re finally going to get a long awaited courtroom showdown between Patty (Glenn Close) and Ellen (Rose Byrne). The reveal that Ellen might be dead would normally have been a Damages’ jaw-dropping shocker come episode’s end, but instead elicits indifferent shrugs because we’ve seen it months ago in the Season 5 teaser trailers. Is this poor marketing tactic an indication of a disappointing season to come?
